When working in the editor, keyboard shortcuts stop working if the outliner is not docked within the main editor window, for example when using multiple monitors and arranging the editor across separate windows. This issue occurs when the outliner receives focus, for example, after selecting an actor from it. Both default UE shortcuts and custom shortcuts are affected.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new project (ensure that the outliner is docked in the main window)
- Create an actor in the viewport *
- Drag the outliner so that it becomes a separate, floating window
- Select the created actor in the outliner
- See that most shortcuts for actor editing stop working, e.g. ctrl + c, ctrl + v, ctrl + d, ctrl + b. Shortcut ctrl + e still works.
* When clicking the actor in the outliner at this point, you can see that all shortcuts listed in step 5 work.
Hello [mention removed]
Thank you for reaching out and reporting this issue.
I was able to reproduce it following your instructions.
It looks broken, indeed.
I’ll report it as a bug and get back to you once I have a trackable link.

Hello [mention removed]
I’ve made a JIRA report to be added to the Unreal issue tracker website (https://issues.unrealengine.com).
Please note that Epic ultimately decides whether the issue will be made publicly accessible, and the process can take a few days, so the tracking link is not immediately accessible.
Once available, you will be able to track the resolution at Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE\-290572)
I’ll close the case, but feel free to reply if you have anything else to add.
All the best,
