Shading error on skeletal mesh

I’m not 100% sure if this is the correct subforum for this, but someone may know

When I import my Skeletal mesh and its accompanying animations, the sections of my mesh that are bound to skins in maya have a shading error as seen in my attached image. Is there something I am missing when exporting from maya or importing into unreal?

I’m having the exact same issue. When I import the mesh without a rig, it looks fine, then when I attach it to some joints the shading becomes bad.
