So, I recognize others have asked similar questions ( None with satisfactory or real answers).
I suspect this Is a “tip of the iceberg” type bug. Maybe there are some deep problems in the logic that triggers a recompile. I don’t know.
Currently, in 4.22, changing the background color of a comment block in the material editor triggers a recompile. What?
Yes, literally using the color wheel eyedropper in the comment properties triggers a recompile every frame.
Also, tweaking the value of dynamic parameters in the material editor (you know, one’s designed to be adjusted at run time) also trigger a recompile. What the heck is going on?
I’ve been noticing this for awhile, but it seems to be getting worse. This has a pretty big impact on iteration time.
Is this a regression? Am I insane?
I’d appreciate any help on this one.
