The same issue persists, and progress in development is completely stalled.

After starting the session, Fortnite launches but shows a “Connecting” screen for about 15 minutes. Then, a dialog appears indicating a crash.

Since update to v36.10 this was happening to my second account that I am using for testing multiplayer functions when I had it set to different language than English for testing UI layout with automatic translations. It was only connecting into the UEFN Session and then crashed every time when I was trying to connect into a session that was started with my primary account (both accounts were at the same party). So I just changed the language to English even in my second account and it worked right away, both accounts are now in the same UEFN Session.

So if your language is set to something different than English, I recommend to change it for now, because I experienced other issues with different language in the past (there are already threads about it), so it is not surprising that it could be causing issues also in this case.

Thank you. I tried your suggestion:

  • Preview Game Language: to English.
  • Editor Language: (was already set to) English.

Unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved… :sob:

In my case, I updated the graphics card driver and restarted my PC. Then, Fortnite didn’t crash and the session started.

Did you restarted Fortnite (the game itself) after you changed it? Because it did not worked right away for me too until I restarted the game (because it crashed again).

So just to be sure - I am talking about language settings in the game itself, not in the UEFN.

  • Preview Game Language: to English.
  • Editor Language: (was already set to) English.

These 2 settings are in the UEFN, but I meant the language settings set to English in the game itself, not in the UEFN.

Ah, it’s the language setting for Fortnite itself!?

I changed Fortnite’s language to English, restarted it,
and launched the session from UEFN…

But the issue still persists…

It seems this problem might be caused by multiple factors.

Thank you.
I also updated my graphics card driver and restarted my PC,
but unfortunately, it didn’t work…

I have had the same issue since the update as well

It seemed there was some downtime, so I was hoping for an improvement.
However, the issue remains the same—after starting the session, the “Connecting” screen stays for about 10-15 minutes, and then it crashes.

It’s already been nearly three full days…

UPDATE: Since yesterday - quitting UEFN and starting again resolves for me. Not ideal, but workable.

=========================

The error/warning messages that appear just before this happens are captured at the end of this message.

I have the same issue. It was not working yesterday, then today it was working, but about 2 hours ago stopped working again.

I have tried Launching with a template map and get the same issue, so it is not the map content.

As a temporary workaround until this issue is resolved,
we are taking the following steps:

  1. UEFN: [Project] → [Upload to Private Version] to generate a Private Code

  2. Fortnite: testing it on regular Fortnite.

Testing with a Private Code on Fortnite feels much less stressful than dealing with sessions that may not launch properly.

im also having this issue, it doesn’t happen on all projects though

Has been resolved for me, got in a session as normal again
EDIT: Happened again, because i launched fortnite through uefn instead of epic games launcher this time
EDIT 2: Issue has returned yet again
Private Version also never loads

Issue’s just gotten even worse (for me atleast).

I can no longer load into private sessions - basically meaning i have no way of testing or publishing a new version of my maps.

Strange, I was debugging my network connection lost issue so I created a new project.
Keeps in loading state for ever, then eventually crashes. (Loading into your Edit Session…)

I managed to join with my other laptop this session fine (other acc), and was able to actually start the session through UEFN (Start game button in UEFN).

The account which is connected to UEFN can’t seem to get in, tried multiple times to launch through UEFN again.

Workaround with private code works for me
