Sequencer Shift+C

When there are multiple cameras in the Sequencer track, you must use Shift+C to preview the correct camera switching effects. However, this locks all viewports to the Sequencer camera track, causing significant drawbacks. For example, when editing MetaHuman facial expressions while needing a second camera angle, Shift+C forcibly locks all viewports to the camera track. To edit expressions, you must exit Shift+C mode and activate cameras individually. With many cameras, this becomes extremely cumbersome - frequent switching creates a poor user experience (editing expressions requires two viewports: one for the actual camera shot, another for a close-up of the facial controller).

Suggestion:

It is recommended to modify Shift+C’s working logic to operate independently per viewport. When pressing Shift+C, only the currently active viewport should be activated. Additionally, each viewport should be able to click and pop out to perspective view. This approach would be more reasonable – any viewport could either lock to Shift+C or switch to any camera for editing operations. If a user wants to lock a second viewport to Shift+C, simply clicking on that viewport and pressing Shift+C once would take just one second.

Alternatively, if you have better solutions to address this issue, we welcome further discussion.

Thank you!

Hello [mention removed]

Thank you for reaching out and for the suggestion.

I was able to reproduce the behavior you described, and indeed, it’s a bit annoying.

I might have found a solution:

It’s possible to disable the Cinematic Control of a particular Viewport.

Go to CameraOptions>Options>AllowCinematicControl:

[Image Removed]That way, that particular viewport won’t track the CineCamera once it is locked.

Let me know if this is helpful.

All the best,

I’ve used UE for many years and struggled with this problem for a long time. Now I finally realize how simple the solution is—thank you!
