Many Publishers Know Too much time spend On Marketplace After Received 2-3 Reviews but All Struggles Are Now Zero on FAB.
Buyers Can’t Ask Question.

What’s Selling on FAB ?

I am talk with many Publishers Reports 95% selling Down.

Example of Selling

Regular My Selling on Marketplace Around 80$-100$ ,
When Fab Release
First Day 10$
Second Day 10$
Third Day 0$
Continue 0$

Daily Sales 80$-100$ to 0$ And Max 10$

I am really sad to say this

If this continues, publishers will have to move to Unity And fab will be Discontinue for new product publishing.

Publisher haven’t time to waiting for move platforms

Thank you

That’s not a great start to Fab. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed when I visited Fab for the first time. The old Marketplace was much better fun to use and browse. Fab almost looks like it’s in Alpha testing. There is a huge market for these products but the site needs a better approach to presenting what’s on offer. Is there even a Add To Favourites button…I looked everywhere, maybe I missed it.

SO, do you think your product, may selling fine as always, but it real statics will be shown properly when fab sales report shown up at the end of the month, is it possible ?

It’s pretty obvious that sales are down for many on FAB.
Part of it is due to website design flaws and issues overall.
But then there are many sellers with an average product price that is now 3 to 10 times higher than it was on the UE Marketplace …
When there are many sellers all of a sudden thinking to just increase prices then obviously they would immediately lose their main target that is solo indie developers and micro and small software houses with limited budget and resources.
The Personal license with the very low $100,000 gross revenue limit is not helping for sure however while there are sellers that didn’t increase their products prices or just increased a little bit and sellers that put the same price on both Personal and Professiona licenses then there are those that increased the price a lot.
The “let’s increase the price” trend was already happening on the UE Marketplace but now on FAB it’s at an all new level with the wrong thought of being able to make a lot of easy money by targeting large AAA studios obviously… Fact is… large AAA studios have their own employees that can create any asset for everything so unless they absolutely need something they don’t have time to make and are in a hurry or there is something amazing that no one ever thought of it’s highly unlikely that they would bother buying anything on online shops… otherwise they wouldn’t need their own employees creating original assets for their products instead…

The community was very vocal about the problems with FAB before launch and they chose not to listen. Unfortunately this is the result. What marketplace customers wanted was pretty simple:

  • Product moderation to prevent ripped assets/IP infringement flooding the market
  • Open text reviews
  • A wish list/favourites
  • Good search tools
  • Launcher integration

Which of these did we get? Literally none of them. Tons of ripped assets, no text reviews, no wishlist/favs, infinite scrolling with poor navigation, marketplace totally removed from launcher. Why would we spend money with FAB ever again. Even if I wanted to, it’s a legal risk because of all the stolen assets and it’s impossible to find what you want anyways.

Imagine opening a store without considering what the customers want, how could it possibly be a success

Exactly, They have completely sideline Game Developers and now are trying to get money from Kids as Primary Customers, Hence we got Fab.

Infact they are planning to introduce new License for these “Ripped/Stolen” or “Copyrighted” assets as Non Commercial/Reference (maybe).

Yeah this is totally absurd. They seem confused about whether FAB should be a market for professionals or a hosting platform for kids to share stolen miniature STLs. How does this level of confusion even happen at the corporate level? Seems pretty clear that these two things are NOT compatible and they have to pick a lane.

I really wish they would launch Fab as Different Marketplace or even if combined content they should let Unreal Marketplace operate on its own (and Fixing its own problems).

It only Imported Crap AI or Low Quality content from Artstation and Sketchfab with gigantic Assets that they could not even moderate with such small team

It’s almost like having separate markets for separate target audiences was a good idea…

To be fair, an lot of this stuff has been pruned ever since Fab launched. But so far, I’ve only seen exactly one of these and it’s behind the mature filter

I’m a seller, too, with the same sales figures.
BUT the sample (number of days) is too small to draw conclusions, in my opinion.

To compare sales, you need at least a sample of 1-2 months minimum for the 2 platforms.

I have a hunch it will be lower (poor search, consumer trust issue, no review…), but it’s just a hunch for now.

And BTW, I think Epic knew it was going to be rough since they don’t take royalties until the end of the year… It wasn’t charity…

I am currently a buyer most of the time. I am quite worry if there is any impact on the November Black Friday Sale as I already planned to grab some relatively expensive assets/ plugins during the time but now I don’t even see an asset going regular sales.

Seems the Asset Sales feature is totally blocked at this launch moment. Product go on sale is also a marketing event to push sales to stimulate buyer’s action.

Hope it will be resumed very soon.
