"self" action causing performance loss

Here is my issue, once i start up unreal and go into vr preview, on a blank project or my main vr project, the framerate jumps between 45 and 90 fps every other frame, after extensive profiling, i have concluded that the bottleneck is the draw thread which is itself being taken up entirely by a “self” action, as shown below. What could be causing this?

there is nothing in the scene render section btw.

I have the same problem in 4.22

Did you happend to find the answer perhaps? I’m kinda in the same shoes now.
