I have just started using UE5 and been attempting to make a viking film. The issue is, with a majority of my shots, there’s often objects tearing and creating this glitchy effect. What should I do in order to fix this? Thanks
Welcome to the Unreal Engine Community Forum. Your project looks great! With the screen tearing, that’s generally a problem with the refresh rate and your monitor(I assume you recorded the video with another device?). I’d look into enabling Vsync in your project. That should take care of it. Let me know if that fixes it! Thanks!
Apologies for the late reply, and also not stating how I recorded the footage. I used UE5’s built in level sequencing to move the camera and then export the finished result.
I had enabled Vsync earlier through the UE5 console when I was troubleshooting before, and the issue didn’t seem to get better or worse.
Oh, I see. I would check with your monitor and the Vsync/FPS cap in UE. Screen tearing happens because of the monitor being at a different FPS setting than the displayed image/video. It’ll be tied into that area.
I have been testing some more and I have found that the screen tearing doesn’t occur in the editor at all, but rather only when I render out the clips through the use of the built in Render Movie Editor. Any ideas?
Do you have any other devices to test it on? (The rendered clip) It’s likely just the frames on the video are higher than that of your monitor. What type of apps have you tested the clips in?
