Scam/Glitch/Fraud maps.

Summary

Many posts have been made about this before, but they need continue until you guys do something about this. It’s quite obvious the market is now flooded with more glitch, scam, and false-XP based maps more than ever, and it seems there’s nothing being done about it.

You can’t claim you want to build a fair and expansive community of map creators and evolve, when you continue to allow this behavior. It’s obvious you can’t/won’t go demonetize Tik Tok and Youtube accounts without enough factual evidence to prove it’s the actual creator posting videos or streaming, but there’s other ways you can solve this. In my opinion, I would wipe out and remove the XP system entirely until you can figure out a better algo. calculation. The creative/UEFN space is getting overrun with people who want to put in little effort and just continue to promote scam/XP/glitch maps over and over, getting large amounts of players (mostly gullible little children) to fall for it. If you remove XP for now, I think that would get rid of a majority of these types of maps because that’s all they are based on, they have no content, they have no purpose, they have no value to the community.

Surely someone from Epic can read and reply to this, and give the THOUSANDS of like-minded legitimate creators some form of communication. You’re virtually allowing yourself to LOSE not only many potential players but also who knows how much money, by all these glitch/scam maps having thousands of players online all the time.

Remove the XP, ban/blackmark all these scam maps, and clean up and purge the space. You’re going to lose control of it if you don’t start doing something.

Just reported this on my post

This person has 4 live streams running all showing the same video/map code and is promoting xp to get the new/old og skins xp limits like this is so outta control its unreal

I use to enjoy making maps but this opens your eyes as you will never compete with this type of dirty tactic unless epic just go nuts and start banning all of them

I think it would be a great solution if XP on the islands were earned in the same way as in other modes like Lego Fortnite or Festival, and if they eliminated the XP award device. Unfortunately, many creators have already chosen to create maps and put stupid things on them that never give the XP they say in their videos. Let’s hope Epic does something to fix this :frowning:

I’m not sure if this is the right place to report on it but it is pretty hilarious seeing how much money these people make.

Every time this creator launches a new map he goes live on tiktok and shows off vending machines that give vbucks and battle passes. He doesn’t save these live videos that show Vbucks but still has fake exp videos for all of his maps.

He scams his way into the algorithim and is getting paid multiple 6 figures by epic for it.

its pretty sad to be honest. uefn has so much potential, but if this behavior continues to be rewarded its never going to stop. the line needs to be drawn somewhere or the creative platform as a whole is going to spiral into low effort, low quality maps. its extremely discouraging for people who dont want to advertise garbage like this, put actual effort into their maps, and genuinely want to create quality and unique experiences. no established devs or new players are going to take anything from creative seriously. i can see how its a difficult problem to solve, but epic needs to lean in harder towards rewarding effort/quality over scams/low effort somehow.
