I am a teacher for iDTech Gaming Academy. I taught my first class ever last year and I have at least two planned for this year. We are still teaching UDK at the moment, but I’m sure we wills switch over to this awesome U4. I am really excited to get started today. I really want to make a whole game as an artist myself. Visual scripting with Blueprint, here we go!
I am super excited for this ! I have been working in unreal engine for a long time, mostly making maps for Gears of war PC etc… I was waiting for UE4 to be released for a long time, today I check neogaf and I see thread about UE4 being released to , couldn’t believe it ! LOL ! . Hopefully I will get my licence on Friday so I can start playing with these beauty !
G’day all.
Excited to be here.
To those who don’t know recognise the signature, I’m slowJusko from the UDK forums, TFP demo & Ground Branch.
I look forward to seeing what the future holds with Unreal Engine 4.
Ho by the way, hello everybody !
I was a strong UDK user and I had the chance to have an early access to the UE4. I hope I will be able to show my work soon !
Hey ! I was NickP on the old forums. My jaw dropped when I got the email this morning. I had the pleasure of beta testing UE4 and I’m so thrilled to see it out in the wild. The subscription + royalty model sounds fantastic, and having the opportunity to contribute on Github is invaluable. The future of game development is bright indeed!
Hi peeps, I’m /mktwo, Dutch 22 year old guy.
Did a few tiny things with UDK, worked with Unity on and off, and had early access to UE4, can’t wait to see what people come up with.
I aim to be a lot more active in the UE4 community than I was with UDK
I dropped into the old forums every now and again, looking forward to getting my hands dirty with this new toy. :D. Future of Indie is here. Cheers Epic!
This great news from EPIC is a gift from THE MAKER, THE OWNER OF EVERYTHING THAT YOU SEE AND DON’T SEE; a gift to the entire game developing world. Let’s be very thankful and let out creative minds go as far possible. I am excited as well and looking forward get my feet wet. I wish the best in whatever you decided to build “Unreal”!.
When the email hit my inbox it changed the very fabric of my free time, as in, there won’t be any anymore
I’m eager to get started working with UE4 and can’t wait to see all the wonderful stuff people create with it.
Kitatus here! We’re going to be using UE4 for our main releases for our N64-Style platformer Distro Horizons while keeping Unity around for our mobile versions! I’m hoping to do a write-up about how both compare and the such, but UE4 looks darn fine! I can’t wait to bring Distro Horizons over and get it up to where we are Unity-wise but with Blueprints. And seems so lovely here, so we hope to make a few new friends or two! Don’t be shy to say hello!
I too was a beta tester, and suddenly feel the need to inform the world of that despite not achieving anywhere near the level of aawesome as some of the people on that team. (You guys wait until /Evernewjoy registers here ;)). I’m currently trying to reproduce the same floaty hover-tank physics of one of my favourite pre-2000 games, and also working on The Somme. Can’t wait to see this forum and the wiki flesh out over the coming months!
Hey all!, Im 24 years old and been using the Unreal Engine for 5 years and love it. We have a small company setup for mobile and PC Games called “Helix Creations”
But once I heard about UT4 I stopped using UDK until UT4 came out and here it is!, I have Unity as well but want to see how well Unreal does for Ios and Android since it now supports them both! Cya you all in the field!
