Hi All,
I have looked at the input mapping for Android systems but can’t find what I am looking for and want to know if it is possible or if I need another route.
The Task - I have a game that consists of a first person/VR camera on a scripted path. Basically it is a timed pre-set journey through a VR scene. In the real world my users will be on a train that is moving. They will be wearing a Gear VR with the app pre-loaded and ready to go.
The Problem - I want to initiate the VR journey at the same time that the physical train ride begins. That way it will time correctly with the turns and hills.
Solution - I’m not sure how I can do this but my 2 thoughts are 1. Detecting an IR beam at the beginning of the train ride to initiate the VR journey or 2. if the VR journey can be done without scripting th path. Like if you can use accelerometer or other inputs and just let the person roam freely in the VR scene (that way the physical train would take care of the path)
Forgive me if this is a Noob question, but does it make sense and does anyone have an idea if either of the above options could work?
Happy to do the research just need to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks very much for any help.
