I know it’s been a though month for sales, but I was getting sales at the beginning, nothing big, but at least something. But the last three days, I had zero sales. That’s pretty bad, even for FAB, I never had 3 days without sales even after FAB launched. Have your sales also dropped off in the past few days, especially after January 10th?
I’ve been selling stuff for 10 years, and January is always a bad month for me. Maybe its seasonal?
A lot of people are reporting they have made only one sale on January first and no sale since.
In general, sales have massively dropped for most sellers, despite what Tim is trying to tell everyone.
Still 2 sales for January. Our products are discoverable(via search), so am guessing fab is getting less traffic than usual and that buyers are losing trust in it.
No wonder when we see post like this every 2days:

Other sellers have the same issue:
My sales increased after January 9th, so they are probably messing with search algorithms. I don’t like this as well, some of my assets are hundreds of assets down the list, even if I search for it specifically. I wish they just added being able to see the most viewed or liked assets on top.
It worked on Unreal marketplace only because they had very high quality standards, but now that it’s filled with AI spam it’s unusable. Who knows how long it will take to train their algorithm.
That’s absolutely True Unfortunately.
I have Exact same Issue, For me after Black Friday I have not Sold anything from Fab till now, I was planning to launch 3 more Products and those took me 8 months in total. But after seeing this I am no Longer Interested or Motivated on Selling on Fab there are various cons then Pros.
I have noticed that 3D Art or Environments sales are lower or Stopped in comparison with Blueprint or Code Asset.
So I am planning to sell Code combined with Art but there will be various Issues with that such as If Low Sales or No Sales continue then Providing Lifetime Support to maybe 5 or 10 Customers, Update with Engine, More Chances of Issues from Client Side which can lead to Low Rating, and Biggest con might be Asset might get Stolen.
For me on Unreal Marketplace it usually Sold Minimum 2-5 Sales per month now on Fab its 0 from 2 months, Unreal Marketplace was good for part time, But now I don’t know whether Fab is even worth.
Fab have Trust Issue, not money Issue from Customer Side.
Aside that, They don’t even had Individual Sale Functionality, (In Pervious Marketplace we could Contact Support 2 weeks earlier with our Asset Information and they put it on Sale) now they Deny that, Also it is on 2nd Last on Roadmap, After seeing their work speed from November I think it will take 2026 atleast.
Anecdotally, this is absolutely the case for me. I’ve been working on a pretty big (open-world) RPG for a few years and spent probably a couple thousand dollars over that time on Epic Marketplace.
I have bought basically nothing since FAB launched because it’s just not a trustworthy market, and Epic have showed tremendous bad faith by allowing stolen IP, AI generated content, and bad actors circumventing truthful reviews (e.g., because open-text reviews are gone) to spiral out of control.
It’s pretty clear that there’s very little review, if any, of new content by actual human reviewers.
Maybe, I’ve been selling for several years as well, but I never had a month so bad as this one. Last january was black friday-level compared to this one.
For me the problem started after january 10th, sales was acceptable before. I don’t know, maybe I was just lucky on the first 10 days.
I’ve also seen some people complaining they’re unable to complete purchases, people seen to get stuck on the “Placing order …” message. This might be affecting sales.
While I’m not a seller…but a part time game designer who does so in spare time (but not lately). I have just shy of 1000 different assets I have mostly purchased (but did get lots free from the marketplace give-a-ways)…and I have to say…FAB is atrocious!!!
My heart goes out to you all who are sellers. Epic’s decision to do FAB in place of the marketplace has got to be the worst decision I have even seen any company make…well maybe not including Twitter. The marketplace was the peak of a mountain…where FAB is the bottom depths of the deepest sea…in comparison. Sure assets can be found but there is literally no where to store anything to come back to at a later time. I’ve made MOST of my purchases AFTER saving them for later and doing research about them and so on. Unless one is very organized and has a photographic memory…coming back to an asset afterwards in FAB is truly a pain-in-the…
Which brings me to the next thing…having Stars to indicate how good an asset is is truly worthless from my POV…if there is no human feedback to support that. Epic has literally taken away ALL that was great about the marketplace and replaced it with utter S***…and they are still expecting people to purchase from it. If any other reselling website did this same thing they did…they would literally go under and file for bankruptcy within days of doing so. It’s clear Epic doesn’t need the money…at least yet!!
I know you all know this…and countless people have been saying all these things since FAB started…but if things don’t change with Epic’s FAB soon, there isn’t going to be anything left to salvage. The people behind FAB’s design keep saying a lot is planned for bringing things that people want to see…but that’s really all that ever happens…is talk like that…with no action to do so. By the sounds of what a lot of you are already saying is there is no more incentive for you all to continue to design and sell…due to no sales. It be like Nvidia designing the 5090 and putting it up for sale an NOBODY buys it. No incentive leads to failure!!! Epic should no this by now…since they started the ability for the average person to create a game without the huge overhead that was normally required to do so.
Epic truly needs to find it’s way back to it’s roots…even UE5 seems to be taking a similar path lately…too many new features but a lot of unfixed crashing and other irritations that have been plaguing designing as of late…thus is why I have taken huge break from designing…for now
Anyway, I hope things get better for all you sellers…and that Epic comes to their senses…before it’s too late!!!
Cheers!!! At least I hope so…
You raise an important point, return vs work spend - I had a few blueprint assets almost ready for selling, but looking at how the sales have dropped, I don’t feel good about providing support and constant updates if I get next to nothing in return.
The current situation is that I would provide work basically for free and wouldn’t even get minimum wage, if I counted the hours spend to create those assets. That’s not really a reasonable choice, especially when you consider how the economy is these days in the world and how much prices for food, rent, etc. have risen.
If Epic doesn’t do a massive effort to turn this around, then FAB will be dead soon and the only people still publishing will be AI generators… Well and the few already popular sellers, who Epic keeps pushing to the store front - despite their promises to treat every seller equally.
Hi Folks,
Avi here, from the Creator Success team.
I wanted to jump in to assure you that we’re actively looking into this and closely monitoring sales performance.
Looking at the data, we see some sellers are experiencing a drop in sales, while others are seeing year-over-year growth. With more sellers coming together on Fab from Sketchfab, Unreal Engine Marketplace and other marketplaces some variance is expected, but we are going to keep digging into this so we can ensure we are continuing to make updates that benefit the entire community.
In terms of what’s next, our highest priority product work is focused on search and discovery, improving the accuracy and quality of results. As part of this work, we’re incorporating new data points—including historical and new sales performance—and tweaking the weight of these signals to help the community find what they’re looking for.
We’re also introducing a wishlist feature for buyers, bringing back the individual sales feature soon, and driving more users to Fab in 2025 with additional marketing investments. These updates should have a positive impact across the whole community.
Thank you for your patience and for sharing your feedback. We’re hoping to release these new updates to search in the coming weeks – stay tuned!
That’s great news!
