Round, match, player spawning devices?

Setting up rounds can be a nightmare with devices, as game states or enabled/disabled would not do the job correctly? If wanting an HUB + on round, is it just better to use portals and maybe checkpoints? to round device ignoring when to start, and it can be odd when some devices can or can’t link to itself and it’s events (if this is really “allowed or as an option”).

As in having too many issues handling round device and round state with devices only, most stuff only works half of the time or triggers when it “shouldn’t”.

Is it really that limited or messy with device only setup? thinking you have a choice with devices, but instead one would need a template on what to use. (starts doing uefn template downloads) so one remembers what one can use with what.

might try “priority group” one more time, and if that will at least change it a little bit than doing any on phase or other triggers.

“on class” breaks stuff, “on team” have not tried but could make FFA modes harder to setup with devices.

okey it seems like tracker is the only device that works between the other devices, when I would think most round related content would be on the round device. tracker also seems to work with other triggers too, unlike other devices. was a pain to understand, what to use and when and why. device might not work for most scenarios, but it works a lot better?

nvm, it seems like certain issues will persist or come back again, from what is enabled/disabled during a round/match and cause issues all over again. might be no real solution other than forced teleport while round is active, with the use of devices?

oh god, it worked a bit better at a point, now its all worse again, not even teleports work on/when/around respawn sites, just make it harder to understand how to make it all work.

anything with device and events/when to start or team/classes, puts me 1 step forward and 2 steps back, starting all over again. I see some people used player reference device for certain modes and if this helps with some the less stable parts of the game, team selection and player spawns?

could be that I just need to delete the round device, although my tracker devices would suffer. could fix some of the issues I’m having with the use of devices only. reference might also be able to adjust the teleportation issues for rounds but more devices to setup again.

I might have forgotten one of the settings, that caused me to go back with a new solution, might be soon finding one that works for me.

as the map goes in and out of breaking down, spawns have become a nightmare, and likely some stuff corrupting the map with time? and another reason to do more verse content than device only content.

While this does not fix things, forgetting to debug and how the team system works differently than I’m used to, in other editors/games. It’s an okey system but can forget (as i did in 6 months) and spawn as team 1 on start or set in settings?

To think “teams” as just a folder or group of players and not part of a gamemode, which has another folder of “classes” that is shared for all teams? and that one “could” have a gamemode with one team doing one gamemode be it player vs player in that team, with various classes. But with devices and maybe using those devices in verse, might follow some of the similar restrictions. In how free teams and classes would be or how to separate them without issues and what to keep to a player between respawn, round or match.

Some settings are nicely labelled and detailed tooltip, while others are confusing in when and why or lacking info about when and some about what it does.

It really does not help, not knowing what resets or do certain things on ROUND END/START.

Also knowing Round 1 can always begin in Creative mode, to however pre-game and gameplay wants to work. Also making the round device less useful and more painful, when you have to target stuff past round 1 aka round 0 from the creative perspective, not fully sure how all the pre-game, match, works outside of creative mode. and can be poorly documented? (think it’s maybe said in some places).

Making it more a frustration in setting up stuff that works between rounds and using any round function on devices, most are just making a mess or not working on the correct round start or with some resets can give double triggers on events? or hard to know what carries over or not between rounds, to when something triggers too many times, and not sure if an “and/or” device would be a nice thing to have.

Created an tutorial, its a little WIP right now and hopefully getting to a point where it would be easy to get everything you might need. but could maybe help some people out.

If you are stuck making one device work, it can take a lot of time.
