I have a rough glass material that has some shadow noise that I can’t clean up. I’ve tried increasing raytracing translucency samples but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
It only disappears if the roughness is 0 or the raytraced shadows is turned off for translucency.
Both, RTGI and RTAO, doesn’t seem to affect even when I turn it on and off.
I’m sliding the roughness in the material below and when its 0 that’s only when it’s clean. I’ve checked samples on everything else but it’s not reflection, gi, etc.
Translucency samples seem to do nothing which is really odd…
I am having this same issue, though it is reflections on the surface of the glass. No mater what settings or the amount of samples I select, under ray tracing translucent or raytracing reflections, its like the denoiser is excluding all the glass, or the sample count is bugged on glass/translucent objects. Ive tried thin translucent, double sided, different lighting modes for the material, etc. Its always the same noise. If I switch the material to opaque, then the reflections become smooth and nice as Id expect. Am I missing some hidden check box, a limitation of translucent materials or is this a bug?
