Here’s a surrealist, nightmarish 3D artwork I’ve made based on my feelings lately. The goal was to create a particular atmosphere using strong volumetrics, contrasted lighting, and cinematic post-processing, all mixed with Path Tracing rendering and artistry influenced by the work of Masahiro Itō, Zdzisław Beksiński, and the Serial Experiments Lain series.
It has been modeled with Blender, textured with Quixel Mixer, and of course, rendered with Unreal Engine 5.
Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far
First of all, this is absolutely stunning. The lighting and emotion creates such a uniquely haunting feeling. Truly beautiful. Secondly, I want a whole short-film about this. There should definitely be a story made for this!
Hope we get to see more from you and your art around here
Thank you very much! My week hasn’t been the best emotionally, but your comment brought the positivity and relief that I needed! Hope yours is better than mine!
I tried my best to do an interesting, moody and eerie render with the lighting and the scenery, so I’m really glad that you felt something strong! And no joke, making a short film has been on my mind since a long time, so I hope I’ll find one day the time to do it! In any case, thank you!
I’m currently pretty busy working on my game, but I’ll come back here as soon as I can! Thank you again!
I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through a bit of a tough time, but I’m glad you’re able to express yourself with your artistic capabilities. I think what you’ve created is almost hauntingly beautiful. While you as the artist made it with certain feelings in mind, it’s interesting to see others gather their thoughts and interpret the way of feeling themselves.
It’s art like this that is moving in the industry and that shows your talent and passion. This piece has truly touched my heart. Keep up the amazing work and I genuinely hope you feel better!
Thank you so much for your kind words! This is always what I try to achieve, to connect with folks via their interpretations and feelings about what is a personal perspective of the world. It helps me to feel less alone and to see the diversity of people. It’s cathartic and enriching!
I’ll do my best to keep on keeping on, artistically and emotionally. There are highs and lows recently, but at least, I feel better on some parts. In any case, thank you very much, I hope you’re doing great too!
