Summary
When rotation snapping is enabled in, the object rotation snaps correctly at first. However, even when grid rotation is turned OFF, the object still seems to be affected by the (90° thats what i always use) grid rotation.
This prevents me from rotating objects freely while rotation snapping is enabled, even though grid rotation is disabled.

UI/Tools
Steps to Reproduce
- Disable Grid Rotation and Grid Location
- Enable “Rotate to Surface Normal” in the snapping to Surface settings.
- Try to rotate the placed prop freely
Expected Result
When Grid Rotation is disabled, the prop should not be restricted by the grid’s rotation increment (90° in my case).
Enabling the rotation snapping tool should allow the prop to rotate freely according to the selected snapping behavior, without being affected by the disabled Grid Rotation setting.
Observed Result
Even with Grid Rotation disabled, the placed prop still appears to follow the 90° grid rotation when rotation snapping is enabled.
This prevents me from rotating props freely, despite having disabled Grid Rotation in the snapping settings.

Additional Notes
This issue has been happening for a while now and still hasn’t been fixed. I think it’s because not many people use this tool, but it’s been really annoying to work with for me, so I decided to report it. Hopefully, it can get fixed soon! ![]()
