Revision Control failed since my PC restarted due to power cut, I think my pc restarted while the project is saving or updating to revision control
Please select what you are reporting on:
Unreal Editor for Fortnite
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Unreal Revision Control
Steps to Reproduce
I was editing as normal but my PC restarted due to power fluctuation
I opened UEFN again and clicked Revision control it shows this error
I tried to find the log in C:\Users\MyUser\AppData\Roaming but can’t find urc folder there
Expected Result
Revision control should work as normal
Observed Result
Revision control error:
Connection Error: Failed reading from packstore file: read 0 of 124 bytes
Try moving your problem Project folder from User/Documents/Fortnite Projects to somewhere else so UEFN can’t see it, then see if you can download the last check in when you open the editor.
I tried it but there is no sync option. I tried do it on different computer as well. All other projects has sync option but this one don’t have any. So unfortunately i don’t know how to fix this.
@Comrad3s_YT it sounds like your .urc folder may have ended up in a bad state potentially due to the power outage
Please try the following:
Move your project folder back where it was if you haven’t already.
Open your project & ensure you save all changes you’ve made to the project
Close UEFN & ensure it is fully closed/background processes complete until “Launch” becomes visible in the Epic Games Launcher rather than “Running”,
Navigate to the project folder in which you are receiving the error in your Windows file browser,
Move ONLY the .urc folder to your desktop (don’t delete it for now just in case it is needed) so that it is no longer in the project folder,
relaunch UEFN,
open the project,
a new .urc folder will be created and your state should be reset, hopefully unblocking you to check in again
once you confirm all is working again you can delete the folder you moved to the desktop
