Reverting diffuse model to lambert?

I just stumbled upon this commit that says the diffuse model has been reverted back to Lamber. I think originally it was Burley, the thing that Disney used for some movies?

Is this just for performance reasons and what kind of implications will this have on art and overall looks?

I assume this means they are reverting the shading model change from the 1/22/2015 update which is probably for the best performance wise.


while there are differences I don’t think they matter so much to be necessary for a real-time game.
