Hi @Nawrot. I appreciate your reply. I agree with this statement “Start small then cut your idea in half. Then do that as game.” My version: “Start small then cut your idea by 90%. Then do that as Tech Demo.” LOL!
Currently doing some very simple rts game in space (really really simple), but this thing keeps growing.
Simple RTS / 2 = Over Ambitious. RTS is one of the most complex of genres in my opinion. But, I also have a desire to develop a FP RTS like Battlezone 1998. Once it can do what BZ98 does, I’ll expand on its features/mechanics til its a MMORPG_RTS_FPS_WITH_DINOSAURS_AND_JETPACKS.
For now, I’m starting with a FP Shooter. Navigate Mazes, Shoot Monsters, Grab Magic Power Ups. I kickstarted with a Full Featured Blueprints-based Multiplayer FPS Template and a few others from the Marketplace that have common features I want, and swap out stuff as needed.
Why? Because I need something playable to keep me entertained and motivated as I develop. This also allows me to focus on developing niche subsystems. I call them niche because thats the only type of player that would enjoy my weird creation.
