I’m in the process of making a voxel style VR game. One big issue I had was the lighting (light can bleed though thin walls, having to turn off shadows for VR performance and not looking that great on a sphere). I managed to solve it using voxel lighting. I’m obviously pretty excited so I though I might share a few pictures.
Obviously the advantage of voxel lighting is that it is very cheap (really only when you add a light, is there any real cost). I can also have caves.
