Summary
On Capture The Flag modes, we use the Capture Item Spawner device with the Flag item.
This item locks the player inventory and interactions so they can’t do anything else while carrying it, but this can be avoided if players use the Quick Weapon function on their controler, thus hurting balance on the game and giving controller players an unfair advantage over K/M players.
There’s a workaround by disabling the fire and aim inputs with the Input Trigger device, so players can’t fire or aim even if they quick swap to another weapon. But this also disables the ability to drop the flag with the aim button.

Steps to Reproduce
Needs a controller to reproduce
- Place a Capture Item Spawner device and drop a Flag item in it (from consumables/items list), check the settings to make sure you can grab it.
- Place other weapons in the map, either with Item Spawners or Vending Machines.
- Start the game.
- Grab the Flag from the Capture Item Spawner device.
- Grab another weapon.
- Now use your controller function to Quick Weapon and swap to another weapon.
Expected Result
Players should NOT be able to use the Quick Weapon function while carrying the flag, since the flag locks scrolling to other weapons by default.
Observed Result
Players are able to avoid the restrictions while carrying the Flag by using Quick Weapon, therefore they’re able to shoot, aim, interact when that’s not supposed to happen.
