Update: Resolved. I think sometimes I was forgetting that I needed to Start Game in order to get rid of the pickaxe. For now I’m just going to use the Class Designer workaround @AxelCapek commented.
Original post: I can’t figure out why this sometimes happens, and sometimes doesn’t. It’s not totally game breaking but it could be a problem if not fixed before Public Beta, because some games don’t require pickaxes.
Is this just a me thing, or is it happening for other creators?
For now, is there another way for me to disable the pickaxe for players?
Thanks, Axel! I figured there was a device that would allow me to do this, but I didn’t know which. So if my game doesn’t have classes, can I choose “No Class”?
Anyone else still have this issue even using the fix? My game still spawns the player with the pickaxe.
If I open an editing session from UEFN and start the game, I usually start with the custom harvesting tool. I then end the game (back to island), and start the game again and I get the default harvesting tool on the second try. I end the game once more and restart it and FINALLY I have no pickaxe on the 3rd try.
I published the island today since I am finally verified and I thought maybe this was just a bug from using the session from the editor. I get the pickaxe EVERY time while accessing the published island. At first, I had just set my island settings to not have the pickaxe but then I tried using the class designer set up the way @AxelCapek described and I still have the issue on the newly published island after the change. Any other ideas?
