(Resolved) Minor - Audio Player Device doesn't play Sound Cue for "Instigators Only" . Plays for Everyone, Non-Instigators.

Update: Resolved! @DolphinDom pointed out to me that I need to Register my player to the Audio Player Device or else the sound will not play. Tried that and now it’s fine. :+1: Thanks, :dolphin:!!!

For me, the Audio Player Device doesn’t play my Sound Cue for the instigating player, when set to “Instigators Only”. Are any other creators experiencing this? The Audio Player does play the Sound Cue when I set it to play for “Everyone” or “Non-Instigators Only.” I tested this with a Button Device, Trigger Device, and Switch Device. I tested using Verse, as well as Event Binding. I know my Sound Cue asset itself works fine, because it plays under every condition except for “Instigators Only.”

The fact that the Audio Player Device’s Sound Cue plays for my player when it’s set to “Non-Instigators Only,” even though my player is the instigator of the devices, makes me think that the Audio Player doesn’t recognize my player as an instigator.

This appears to be limited to the Audio Player. I tried connecting a Timer Device to the same Button, Trigger, and Switch, and setting the timer to apply to “Player Only”, and the timer started fine.

Not a game breaker but it’s kind of annoying. :woman_shrugging:

This is because the audio player device requires you to register the player to the device prior to activating it if you are trying to play it at the instigator. But after you register and activate it, make sure you unregister them if you don’t want them to hear it anytime it’s activated afterwards. (Multiple people can be registered at a time so anyone else activating it will make the original player still hear it).
