When Packaging from the Editor to Windows platform I do get this in the log and I would like some clarification on this
UATHelper: Packaging (Windows): LogStaticMesh: Display: Building static mesh SM_Dovecote_01_A (Required Memory Estimate: 20609.215909 MB)…
That looks to me it takes 20.6GB
Is it memory when packaging only? is it Disk space? is it when loading the assets when streaming?
What is this? I am confused since I have looked at the disk size, and I have looked in the editor in the model viewer and I can not find this 20GB.
So clarification on this would be great.
Kind regards

It uses GetBuildRequiredMemoryEstimate, which says its build time only.

Hello!
That is correct! That is an estimation of the RAM required to process the source mesh when generating the mesh render data. It will appear when the mesh is loaded for the first time and the mesh render data cannot be found in the DDC (local or shared) which requires the mesh to be processed locally.

Martin
