Hi, I know this has been asked before, but any news on a RealityCapture Linux release?
With the new license and Colmap export-option in the 1.5 version, I believe RC will gain a lot of momentum within research. I am currently using it in my own research on Gaussian Splatting. My whole data pipeline is automatic, except having to copy everything over to a Windows dualboot, and run a Powershell-script I made for RC CLI, and then copy everything back to Linux to resume the pipeline.
I hope a Linux release could benefit RC with feedback from the academic community, and just get it into a lot more hands.
Hi, just a friendly message of strong support for this request. RealityScan is on the edge of finally replacing Metashape as the standard Photogrammetry software in Heritage-related domains, but at the same time there is increasing concern in the European Union about Microsoft. This means the public sector of all EU countries has to be ready to fully switch to Linux at any time, and a Linux-compatible photogrammetry solution is absolutely necessary.
Your software actually partially works (launch + alignment + meshing + Orthophoto are ok, export is not) through the Heroic games launcher, I think any solution through this kind of adapter would be great for us, even with slitghly decreased processing speed.
