Rendering/lighting/something issue with 3Dwidget, shows fine in viewport but not in build on headset/UE

hey there, i’m somewhat of a rookie with UE4 so apologies in advance.

I’ve made menus using 3Dwidgets for use in VR, and i’ve used a PNG image as the background of one of them.

in the viewport it looks exactly as intended, however when I build and run it either in the VR headset or using Play in UE4, it shows this.

I’ve already set the blend mode of the Widget Blueprint to transparent, so I’m just really stumped on what could be causing the issue.
