Hey, I just tried Steam Link today with SteamVR set as the default OpenXR runtime, but I get weird rendering issues in the editor and also in a packaged build, what could cause this?
I created a fresh vr project and there’s a couple of visual artifacts as well, does this mean that games made using UE4 Openxr won’t be compatible with SteamVR Openxr?
The problem goes away when enabling the SteamVR plugin, but I was told that I only needed to use the Openxr plugin, can someone confirm what plugins I should be using to release a game on Steam with Openxr?
The only plugin required for an OpenXR game with UE is the OpenXR plugin. SteamVR and OculusVR provide support for the old SDK’s, and if either are enabled, you’re not using OpenXR.
This seems like a SteamVR link/SteamVR runtime bug. I’ll look into it!
Strangely enough the issue is made worse when switching to no AA, so make sure you try that during your testing, this is while using UE4 with Steam Link and SteamVR set as the default Openxr runtime @VictorLerp
This isn’t related to SteamVR link, or OpenXR for that matter as you’re not running it in Stereo. What are the reproducible steps to see these issues, both the initial post in this thread and the last one?
Open Steam Link on Quest and connect to your computer
On the computer set Steam as the default Openxr runtime
Launch UE4 with the vr template
Change Antialias to anything other than MSAA
Some of the gizmos in the scene look a little buggy even with MSAA, they render over walls, some are flickering, but when AA is set to something else it goes crazy
I would try to delete these three folders–Saved, Intermediate and DerivedDataCache. Im having a similar issue and this got me further along.
