Render with Artifacts and Distortion Bug?

Hello,

I’m having an issue with Twinmotion. Sometimes, when I render an image, artifacts appear, and the image gets “distorted”—areas that should be straight become wavy. I don’t know what’s causing this. I’m facing this problem and need to figure out what it is so I can deliver the render to my client.

Here is the image with the artifacts and distortion. Notice that the areas that should have straight lines appear jagged.

Below is the image with the correct representation. (I rendered it a bit before the one above, but now all renders are coming out with these bugs.)

My Notebook configuration is:
-Processor: Intel(R) Core™ i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz (12 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
-Memory: 32768MB RAM
-DirectX Version: DirectX 12
-Chip type: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

I need to find a solution. Everything is almost set up, and this is the only rendering software I know how to use.

knock knock?

Looks like some anti aliasing issues.

What changed between your smoothed and aliased image? Did you change Twinmotion version?
What is the version you are currently using?

What are you media settings?

Are you using auto-exposure? If yes can you switch to manual?

Are you able to share your scene, or a toy example.

Yes, i can share the file with you. Can I send to the box link you sent me on the other topic? What is the procedure to share a TM file without losing data?

My twinmotion is updated on current version. 2025.1

The only thing i changed was material. Maybe glass fresnel and some other textures roughtness and scale. Nothing about media

Media settings 4k

Not using auto-exposure

Yes you can send on the box link you used the other day.
The TM file should be enough, just let us know the different steps you follow to generate the screenshots so we can reproduce.

I sent you the file in the box drive.

The only thing I changed was materials settings (not even the texture). All media settings stay the same. Sometimes its rendering with artifacts and sometimes not.

If you want to force it to show artifacts, try putting it on night time.

How do you generate the screenshot you shared with us?
Select one of the image in the media panel and export?

Hi Taykend

Could you use the “Contact Us” button to log your issue? Please direct it to me so we can streamline the process.

We are currently working closely with the dev and QA teams to reproduce and troubleshoot your issue. Keeping all the information in one place will help us to address it more efficiently and allow us to contact you directly.

Additionally, if you’re able to provide any reproducible steps that would help us pinpoint the issue, that would be extremely helpful. We’re currently suspecting that the problem may be related to the export process.

Thanks in advance!

Hello. Sorry for the late reply. I ended up having to postpone this render so I didn’t work on it anymore. I feel like I solved it by setting all the viewport settings to low before exporting and making the Twinmotion window as small as possible. I figured out that when the video card usage is above 75% there is a greater chance of this bug happening. Sometimes it still happened, then I closed Twinmotion and opened it again and rendered and it went back to normal.

@UE_FlavienP On the first image, I just exported. But this file is the “fixed” one, after I made the material changes… I think the thing i made that had more impact was fresnel opacity on the blueish glass on the facade of the right house.

I will try to reproduce the bug again and send another file with the bug happening, but for now I’m too busy with work (working from morning to night). When things ease up i’ll try again. Sorry for that.

@MC_Jut it will be a problem if I send it later? I appreciate all your support but i’m really busy by now. Then later i’ll try to reproduce it again and send a proper file. ok?

A thing is happening a lot is the time of exporting… it’s never precise and sometimes it locks on 0 minutes left and never finishes. So the solution is always cancel and export again.

Sure whenever you can, we’ll be happy to take a look and try to find a solution for you. Cheers
