I am working on UI in VR. Tried a method where widget contents are rendered into a stereo layer in order to achieve high visual quality.
I have one problem, I want to draw a laser beam from hand controllers into forward direction, in order to show where the user is aiming (similar to widget interaction debug arrow which is not properly rendered in VR). The problem is that the stereo layer is drawn on top of laser beam vfx, which defeats the purpose. So, wanted to ask following:
- Was anyone able to render VFX in front of stereo layer?
- Is anyone using stereo layers for their UI (e.g. main menu)?
Would appreciate any recommendations.
I also made a separate detailed post on meta developer forum, but couldn’t get any help there.
