Render layers to remove ground not working as expected.

Hi, I’m trying to use the sequencer to render a straightforward scene with some primitives and have them appear as stencils on the ground. It’s partially working, but it seems that some light is missing in the transparent render.

I have created a concise PDF document outlining the process, and I have also recorded a quick video demonstrating the steps I followed.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could provide.
