Hello,
in my search of finding material and lighting solutions for scenes of Archviz that are interiors and exteriors at the same time, I find almost impossible to find a solution that works everywhere. Today my problem is translucency and reflections.
I found a way to make it work for objects made of glass that look “ok” and also a way to make a glass material for my windows that also works well, the problem is that I can not have both solutions working at the same time:
In the next image, you can see that my glass material on the windows is doing the job of reflecting the environment (a little blurry, but that is Lumen limitation I guess) and it lets you look in the inside with the proper GI there:
In the next image, I activate in the post process volume, in the Translucency tab the Refraction. Now I have the correct look for objects made of Glass, but the translucency in my windows material is not working properly, because it does not have GI:
I have searched in the objects details and materials, but I have found no option so I can turn off this refraction effect of the translucency on my windows and keep the refraction effect on objects that are made of Glass, so that they can have a more realistic look. I know that this refractions on the objects do not have also GI, but at least a combination of the both best solutions is better that nothing.
My fear, is that is that this option is only on the post process volume and it can not be changed anywhere else, since it is how it calculates translucency in general for all objects…is that right? or is there some kind of way to achive a combination of both solutions?
thank you!
