Recurring crash in UEFN even after full system format and reinstallation

Summary

Recurring crash in UEFN even after full system format and reinstallation

Hello, support team.

I’m experiencing constant and random crashes while using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), and I’ve already performed all the suggested procedures so far, without success.

:white_check_mark: Procedures performed:

Clean system startup

Full Windows format

Clean installation with only the Epic Games Launcher and UEFN

Creation of brand new projects from scratch

Complete reinstallation of UEFN

Verification and repair via Epic Launcher

Update of all drivers (graphics card, chipset, etc.)

Optimization of GPU performance settings

Tests with and without overclocking

Tests with memory diagnostic tools

Even with all that, the crashes continue to occur without any clear pattern: sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after an hour, and in many cases, UEFN crashes repeatedly (10 times in a row) before I can even open a project.

:laptop: My PC specs:

Motherboard: ASUS Z790 Plus

Processor: Intel Core i9 13900K

RAM: 64 GB DDR5

Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti

Power Supply: 1200W

I would really appreciate a deeper analysis from your team, as I urgently need stability to keep working with the editor.

Thank you in advance for your attention.

Sincerely,
Ricardo Murilo – NINJAH

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

Other

Steps to Reproduce

There is no specific sequence or identifiable cause for the crashes.
The editor simply crashes — sometimes within 1 minute, sometimes after 10 minutes, or even after an hour.
It happens regardless of what I’m working on or doing inside the editor.

Expected Result

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
The EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error occurs when UEFN tries to access an invalid or protected area of memory — usually due to a null reference or a corrupted pointer.

In my case, the crash happens at random times, even with a clean system and a freshly created project. The error pattern suggests a possible internal issue within the editor itself (such as an illegal memory access by a thread or internal UEFN function).

Observed Result

Is the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION, ending in 00008, this one is a landscape bug and currently going around.

Try setting your paging file to not windows managed, as big as you can get it like 100GB+ and ideally a dedicated SSD.
Landscape Data uses the paging file, your system is so good, windows could be assuming you don’t really need a big one and giving you a tiny paging file.
Not really sure but Windows keeping it within a certain size could be causing the odd violation
