Rect Light's shadow is very jagged and hard


I have seen lots of tutorials where the default Rect Light would give soft shadows right off the bat, but mine doesn’t seem to work like that

  • Adjusting Source Radius for point lights doesnt give me soft shadows as well…

Any tips will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Can you indicate one of these tutorials? I can only get harshness from a rect light.

You can see from 7:00, he’s getting soft shadows from his rect light
I don’t know what am i missing either…

Make sure you’re using one of the following:

  • Raytraced Shadows
  • Distance Field Shadows
  • Virtual shadow maps

Source radius does nothing with regular shadowmaps on a moveable light.
