Recovering revision control projects

Summary

Hi, I recently had a ssd that got corrupted and I lost all my system files. I was wondering if I could get some help recovering by my project I had revision control on and the island code is 6300-2585-7084. Also all my projects that I try to sync are opening up blank with just two spawners. It seems I can’t access any of my projects except for prefab Fortnite maps they all seem to load. Any help would be so much appreciated thanks!

It sounds like you had Unreal Revision Control enabled for your projects but never used the CHECK IN CHANGES button on the bottom right side of the screen to backup your work.

I recommend reading this: Unreal Revision Control | Unreal Editor for Fortnite Documentation | Epic Developer Community

I definitely checked in at least once. Is there anyway of checking? Also I just checked and that project isn’t even published anymore and it just was yesterday.

Unfortunately it only does a backup to URC each time you press check in changes, this creates a snapshot.
If you click on Unreal Revision Control in the editor you can access the Snapshot History, this is where every snapshot you’ve created is listed, and you can open any snapshot that was made by check in changes.

hi @Tone2Filthy ,
When your projects attempt to restore, are they using OneDrive in the path?
Windows 11 often forces the path to be
Owner = %USERPROFILE%
c:\users\Owner\OneDrive\Documents\Unreal Projects any restore causes a blank file as this get sent to OneDrive Cloud, NOT the local PC. UEFN displays a message, but URC cannot display a message!. Nowhere to display informational messages!.

I am not sure the files are even on OneDrive

UE5 Windows 10 standard source save is c:\Users\Documents\Unreal Engine
This is wrong path
C:/Users/Owner/OneDrive/Documents/Unreal Projects/MyProjectPan360/MyProjectPan360.uproject
The problem in UEFN here is obvious using the wrong slash / not the ""
So the path is wrong. File creation failed

have you cut and pasted the contents somewhere else of path c:\users\owners\Appdata\Fornite\Intemediate
c:\users\owners\Appdata\Fornite\Saved

Ok yeah unfortunately it’s only showing my original snapshot. That’s s shame I could’ve swore I checked in changed multiple times. I’m still fairly certain I did.

No it opens from my local files but still just coming up blank and because I don’t have any files for it any longer. I was hoping I would just be able to redownload what was uploaded since its public. Thanks for the heads up though that was definitely worth a try. I have a couple friends who loaded into the map at one point in uefn so im contacted them to see if they still happen to have the .urc files which would be clutch
