RealityScan on Windows 8.1 not starting

See the photo above, I am trying to launch RealityScan on Windows 8.1 (which is a supported OS according to Epic Games: Download RealityScan - RealityScan).

I am getting the error The procedure entry point SetThreadException could not be located in the dynamic link library. This is apparently a dll that comes with Windows 10 1607 or newer. Any idea how to make RealityScan or Capture work on 8.1? Or what’s the most recent RealityCapture version that ACTUALLY supports Windows 8.1?

I have Windows 10 in dual boot on my machine but booting to 10 is always a little hassle and I hate Windows 10 in so many ways, that’s not relevant for this discussion here, since Epic claims to support 8.1. Funny thing though is, that Epic Games launcher doesn’t support Windows 8.1, but I have an older launcher installed.

Hi @iso_kasa
We will need to update that Supported OS page.
Unfortunately, you are right and since RealityCapture 1.5.0 the Windows 10 is needed.
You can try to use RealityCapture 1.4.2 version, which is available in Epic Games Launcher.
