Real world map for UE

Сan the unreal engine render real world terains, by this i mean, srtm heightmap + geolocalised imagery (satellite images).

Are available any tutorials for that?

You just need to convert the heightmap into a format that UE 4 undestands. 16-bit greyscale .png works if I recall correctly. Satellite maps can be done, but you need to figure out the tiling factor of the texture for the landscape so that it matches the heightmap. There is no automatic satellite image mapping to terrain coordinates or anything like what various GIS software supports.

Yup, the terrain in Kite Demo is based on Satellite Data, then reshaped to look more interesting. Ryan did a brief talk about it in one of Epic’s recent weekly Twitch Streams.

SRTM - Global Mapper (Export height to HF2/HFZ) - World Machine - UE4. Satellite images from SASPlanet.

or for a cheaper alternative use L3DT instead of WorldMachine (90 days free trial)

I thought it was made entirely in World Machine?

No. Heightmap data was ported to world machine as a base to work on.
