When you re import a mesh that has foliage settings they get wiped and you have to manually re input the settings on the mesh
Hi ,
What version of the editor are you currently using? Are you using speedtree models or another foliage model?
Hi ,
We have not heard from you in quite some time. I am marking this thread as answered for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing this error, please comment with the requested information.
Hey, yeah I’m still around, was busy with Pax recently. I just tested this with 4.5 and the bug is still there. Where you re-import mesh intended for foliage you need to reapply the foliage settings. We use custom meshes and speed tree, this particular issue happened with our own meshes.
Just to make sure I’m following correctly:
You have created foliage meshes (which program are you using for your meshes?) and you set up the foliage settings, when re-importing the mesh these settings erase and you must re-set them. Does the mesh remain in the foliage list?
We’re using 3dsmax for modelling, however the issue is when we re-import the mesh the foliage default settings is removed and you have to reassign and re enter the data.
Hi ,
I have been unable to reproduce this thus far on my end. Do you have any specific reproduction steps that I can follow to recreate this error? The steps I followed were:
- Open Editor (any project)
- Import a .fbx from 3dsmax (to be certain that I matched closely, I chose a tree model)
- Add new mesh to foliage mode
- Change settings then save as InstancedFoliageSettings.
- Re-import the mesh
At this point I did not see any changes in the InstancedFoliageSettings.
