Ray Tracing in VR ?

Hi everyone !

I’m developing a VR game, and I currently use Valve Index headset for development.

I do have a RTX 2080Ti graphic card, and wanted to see if I could reach decent framerate when activating ray tracing.

When RT is off, the game runs at 120 fps constant, but when I turn RT on, even with only the sky light on, no other light source in the scene, the framerate drops at 33 fps.

I know it’s kind of normal that I get a loss of framerate, but that huge ?

Is there a way to optimize ray tracing by deactivating some stuff ? What are your advices about that ?
