Ray trace scatter tool long distance shodows

Hi, I’m using an RTX 2070 and when doing raytracing on a large scale environment, the objects placed with the scattering brush are losing their shadows over distance, like the cascading distance on the light when there is no raytracing, but this is only happening to the scattered foliage, if there is an identical mesh next to a scattered one, only the scattered one is missing it’s shadow after a distance “boundry” to the camera apparently.
Is this a bug or am I missing something, any help would be greatly appreciated.
