I’m using a content pack I purchased from the marketplace to make a ==VR== game and while doing some work in it yesterday I had ue5 crash on me randomly. I sent the crash report and restarted the project and kept on working, some stuff was unsaved but it wasn’t a big deal. After finishing what I was doing I went to save all and it for some reason wanted me to save the changes as a new map, which was kind of alarming as I had not created any new maps. I saved it as one anyways with the intention of opening up the new map to see what it was, but it wanted me to save each individual change (I had 4 at the time) as a new map. I decided to go into my blueprints and personally save each one versus using save all and closed the editor without saving to get rid of the glitched saves hoping it would fix my issue.
Now whenever I start up the editor I get the same logstack errors in the output log, I also get a few warnings, both of which I’ll post below. Everything else seems to be working fine until I hit play, and test my project in any (in editor) play style. The game gets extremely laggy using 80% of my ram, spiking up to 1000 kbs network periodically, the character model glitches out sometimes lowering its head into the floor, sometimes turning on its own, sometimes just acting extremely jittery.
On top of all of this the vr performance in the steam vr performance graph is spiking between 12ms responce and 30ms response with extremely rare spikes of higher times, the highest spike I witnessed was 3000+ ms response.
Once I leave the play mode the performance does not improve, the editor stays extremely laggy and the vr performance does not get any better, the ram usage and network usage continue to spike and the only way to fix it is to close the project and reopen it.
I have no idea what the issue is as I’m new to unreal engine, any help would be much appreciated.
