Eek, a big problem is OneDrive. OneDrive will mess with UEFN…
Silly, because thats the default location we are given and unless we are aware of the issue…problems
Worse case, yes you will have to redo stuff, annoying, heartbreaking, but in the end it turns out for the better, your more skilled now, than a month ago… more practice… well thats what I tell myself, I’ve probably lost somewhere between 6 and 9 months of work all up… but its 6-9 months experience gained.
OK in UEFN open Editor Preferences and near the start, add a new Project Folders location, like C:\Fortnite Projects, somewhere thats not under OneDrive control
I don’t know if you can get OneDrive to undo its changes made on the day your Project went cactus… if it is the issue
Anyway Close the editor and move your entire Fortnite Projects folder from your User/Documents to C:\Fortnite Projects
Make another folder like C:\ProjectBackup then move ExtinctionX folder from C:\Fortnite Projects to C:\ProjectBackup.
Open UEFN and you will get a download notification for ExtinctionX, download to get your latest snapshot… Make snapshots daily…
now you can compare the size of the newly downloaded ExtinctionX in projects to the one in backup.
If they are similar, disappointing…
If they aren’t, you may be able to copy the folders over to add your content in.
One or two of your backup project files are probably corrupted, but the UASSETs in the alphabetical folders are the ones you want, they are map actors
You may be able to copy them from the folder and paste them into the map or replace the newly downloaded folders with the folders from the backup.
