I’m working on a game on 4.24, and yesterday I finished my day, saved everything and closed it. Turned off my computer and today when I opened it looked like this:
It’s supposed to look like this from the same angle:
The only thing I did with the project in this time frame is I made a shortcut to the project and placed it in my taskbar for easy access, but when trying to open it showed a message saying something like “make this directory a default Unreal directory” and I pressed No, and the project didn’t open.
Besides that, I barely used my computer. After opening the project today, I restarted the computer but that did nothing. I also verified the Unreal installation on the launcher and verified the assets on the projects but to no avail.
I started writing this post before I went out to lunch and left the PC on and the project open, and now for whatever reason, it looks like this:
Did some more testing after restarting Unreal and confirmed that:
- Playing works but it still looks
corrupted - Changing API on the Project Settings
doesn’t change anything. - Setting the Engine Scalability
setting froze UE4 for 1 minute or so. - Opening the project on 4.24 doesn’t
change anything either. - Other levels also look corrupted, but
other projects don’t.
