Project File Zipped -- New Workstation -- Vive to Oculus -- Slow Performance

Hi All,

I was working on a VR file with my professor, and we have comparable specs (she has a 980, I have a 1080).

At school, we were working with the Vive, and zipped up a project file to upload and send via we transfer.

When I download / unzip and open at home, performance is quite laggy.

Is there something I’m missing? Do you think it might be a Oculus / Vive thing, or is there a proper import process I’m not doing?

Currently I’m just launching the ‘.uproject’ from my explorer folder.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Unless you used some dedicated SteamVR nodes, your project should work equally well on both devices. By zip-up do you mean just zipping all folders or did you use the project zip up function under File → Package? The latter is the most correct way to transfer a project between two computers. Otherwise try deleting all folders from the project you received except Content, Config, Source, Plugins and the uproject file. Then re-open the project and let everything recompile.
