Greetings everyone!
I would love to hear from you RV developers in UE4 about the general differences between a production made in UE4 for Rift and an animated 360 (panoramic) movie in 3ds max vray, also running on the rift.
What do you think of these two experiences in terms of immersion and render quality?
Hi pareon,
I would say that a “360 movie” rendered in realtime in the Unreal Engine will be dependent on the performance of the desktop that is playing it, while a 360 prerendered panoramic movie from vray or what so ever has nearly no calculations to do and for that would not be dependant on the device performance. So you could also use GearVr or other mobile devices to watch a high quality movie.
I hope I could help you with that
Greetings,
