Procedural foliage spawner instantly crashes Unreal (4.27)

I’m trying to use the procedural foliage spawner and no matter what, it crashes Unreal Engine.

I was following along tutorials for several plugins and marketplace packages (Terraform Pro, Brushify and Procedural Landscape Ecosystem) and the spawners crashed Unreal when I tried to drag them into the scene from the content browser.

For testing purposes to see whether it had anything to do with the content, I made an empty spawner. No meshes or anything and dragged it into the scene. Unreal crashed just the same. If an empty spawner is causing a crash, that sounds like something related to the engine itself.

I checked the forums and found a few other people bringing this up, but with no real answers as to what is causing it or how to fix it. Is there anyone who understands why this happens? Either in the community or Epic?

make a new project clean and try just the plain procedural foliage from unreal
i f it works, then maybe its one of the plugins that you added

That’s what I did and it worked fine with Terraform and PLE as the only things enabled.

But how am I supposed to use this for production when other plugins I need conflict?

My first test was to disable Cesium and everything works now.

If a plugin doesn’t work, well
I wouldn’t use it in production unless you have a code monkey to fix it.
or
perhaps with only the most important 3rd party plug and no others, it works
right?
Maybe if you disable everything else cesium works
so then you have to choose.
If you need accurate GIS modelling you might not have a choice
