Lately I thought I was the only one updating and not even reaching the updated section to receive the 50,000 impressions we supposedly need to receive to evaluate whether our map is successful or not.
Looking around a bit, I’ve seen that many more people are affected, which leads me to believe it’s not my fault and that it’s not just happening to me. Several of us updated and received nothing. Some of my maps have been affected

Some maps fail to reach 50,000 impressions when published, while others have no problem.
I totally confirm this observation. On my side, I have published several major updates since January 31, 2026, but my map has never appeared in the ‘UPDATE’ section, not even for a test phase.
To try and unblock the situation and finally get a test, I launched a Sponsoring Row campaign today ($50 budget). Result: although the campaign is marked as active, my map does not appear anywhere.
both the “New” and “Updated” rows are actually sorted by the same sophistication score, the difference is that there are significantly more island updates each day. And, since there’s more competition, it can be more difficult for islands to show up in the Updated row.
But to be fair, how are new maps supposed to get a chance in the Discovery system because 2/3x on New isnt enough. If you only get a “chance” to enter the updated tab if you make Updates with content worth new maps because the sophistication score has to be so high to enter it doesnt make sense and is alot of effort for only a chance to enter.
The solution with the current New system is great, showing more maps feels better and even if your #80 you know your somewhere and are not just invicible. Please consider to make changes to the updated tab to make the Situation more fair for newer maps that want to enter this tab too, because as of rn alot of people have the Problem of not being able to enter the new tab.
