Problem with the Refraction

I’m having a problem whit the Refraction. When I set the glass value to 1.0 (Photo Refraction 1), the plants outside the window have the right texture quality, but when I use the real Refraction value of glass which is 1.52 (Photo Refraction 1.52), the texture loses quality. Please help!


It doesn’t look like textures are your issue, somehow your entire scene is becoming unlit. Could you post a video of the transition in-progress?

My best guess is that Unreal is switching to a simplified scene setup behind the refractive surface, as it seems to be culling not just shadowing, but also landscape grass and scatter objects. I wonder if it’s trying to portray the lumen scene behind the glass using RT when it can’t just rasterize it, but the shading is cleanly limited. Could you share a comparison shot to the view you’re getting now vs. your lumen scene visualizations?
