Problem with importing scale keyframe from Polyform Animator animation

Hello.
So I found this amazing free script for 3DS Max which helps with creating construction animation.

Problem is when I import this animated object that I created to test it, The shading looks wrong and the first column disappears.

The script animates the thing by key framing the scale. All the boxes are separate in 3ds max. I created a single bone and attached (not skinned) everything to it so It’s one object in the engine and I don’t have to place them one by one by hand. The object in the picture is using the default checker material. I also tested this same file in marmoset toolbag 3 and everything appears fine there. If anyone can suggest a workflow for importing this kind of data into UE4 easily it’s truly appreciated. Thanks.
