I am assuming that you are using a Light Module in your particle system’s setup. The lights generated in the Particle System Module are meant for small scale localized effects only. Generating shadowing information for them would be impractical on current hardware. This is why your particle light is spilling out onto the 2nd mesh. You can go into the Light module and reduce the influence area and it should correct your problem.
Also make sure your particle System has a set fixed bounds.
