Private Island Code + Discovery playlist stuck on "Finding Server"

Summary

I just published a new version of my UEFN island, and I cannot play any version of it when it is in Discovery or Private Island code. It is just stuck “Finding Server”. How can I fix this. There is no validation, memoery, or Verse issues.

One of my islands has the same issue. Help please!

I am experiencing the same issue with my UEFN island, LORAN: ERUPTION.

The public island code, newly generated private versions, and even older private versions that previously worked are all stuck on “Finding Server”.

I tested from another computer using a different Epic Games account and the same issue occurs. I also tested another UEFN project, and that project successfully finds a server.

FortniteGame.log shows that the matchmaking ticket is successfully created but remains in TicketWaitingForAssigment without ever receiving a server assignment.

I also created my own bug report with additional logs and diagnostic information: UEFN island suddenly unable to create matchmaking servers – old private versions also affected - General / Issues and Bug Reporting - Epic Developer Community Forums

It appears that our islands may be affected by the same issue.

I had the same issue with my UEFN island being stuck indefinitely on “Finding Server”, and I found the cause in my case.

Check your island’s matchmaking settings, especially Minimum Players.

My island had Minimum Players = 2, and when only one player was searching for a match, it remained stuck on “Finding Server”. I tested from different PCs, Epic accounts, and matchmaking regions with the same result.

As soon as a second player searched for the island at the same time, the server was created successfully and both players were able to join.

After changing Minimum Players to 1 and publishing a new version, matchmaking started working normally for a single player.

So, if your Minimum Players setting is higher than 1, try joining simultaneously with enough accounts to meet that requirement. If matchmaking works, you may be experiencing the same behavior.

Hope this helps. It took me quite a while to identify the cause because Fortnite only displayed “Finding Server” without indicating that matchmaking was waiting for more players.
